Trade Deadline time and General Manager, Stan Bowman for the Chicago Blackhawks has pulled a couple moves. Most notable is the pick-up of defenseman, Johnny Oduya, from the Winnipeg Jets in exchange for a 2nd and 3rd round pick in the 2013 draft.
Odyuya, native to Stockholm, Sweden, age 30, began his NHL career when selected by the Washington Capitals in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. In 2006 he signed with the New Jersey Devils . He was later traded in 2010 to the Thrashers and in last year again to the Jets. But Oduya moves just as much on the ice as he has between teams. This speedy, puck-moving defenseman is just what Bowman thinks we need right now after losing Brian Campell in 2011.
